I wanted to let you know that through Nashville Pet Finders, we found Tessa and Sweetie. I posted yesterday evening and the person who them called early this morning and I was happily reunited. We are keeping Tessa & Sweetie for a friend who lost her house in the flooding. I can't believe Sweetie was able to open the handle on our gate. It is completely secured now. She can jump like a kangaroo.

Because of Nashville Pet Finders I was able to reunite the wonderful Boxer, Chance, who was running loose on McGavock Pike. I knew I wouldn't be able to care for him for very long because I am in poor health and on oxygen 24/7, but I was able to feed him and love him until his owners saw his listing on the Nashville Pet Finder's website. His owners did not know about Nashville Pet Finders, but Chance's "mommy" worked at Home Depot and a co-worker told her about the website.

In addition, since Chance's home is nearby, his owners are going to bring him by to let him play in the yard and will be able to continue to be a part of this sweet dog's life.

I posted a found dog a day or so ago. A friend of his owner saw the posting and emailed me. I took " Biscuit" home a few minutes ago. What a great website you have to do such a great thing, Biscuit was an abused dog when his owner took him out of a shelter 3 years ago so he was scared and shy but the minute I said his name he was happy and excited.

We were just letting our precious labs back in the house from our fenced backyard, when they escaped. We spent the morning searching for them. Morning turned into afternoon to evening and we thought they were lost or worse.

Saturday morning I let our two dogs into the backyard for their morning business, they are typical homebodies and I took that for granted. They left our yard while I was on the phone, uncollared and unchipped. I have I made enough confessions, needless to say - I feel horrible.

I began looking for them right away and my neighbors joined in the search and my husband when he got home from work, calling veterinarians in the area and other pet friendly businesses - the search was on and exhaustive. Six hours later we had discovered only three things:
1. Our eldest baby - Hope (13 years old) had been hit be a car moments after leaving the yard.
2. Our baby - Hershey (3 years old) was missing and it was going to be a cold night.
3. Nashville Petfinders

On Sunday morning we received a call from Mark, a neighbor in an adjoining neighborhood. Hershey had spent the day hiding from Animal Control in his neighbor's (Robbi) fenced in yard. The group decided to let Hershey stay in Mark's garage for the night instead of the doghouse the Robbi had lovingly prepared because of how cold it was last night. Mark's girlfriend had found our post on Nashville Petfinders and knew exactly how to find her home. We went and picked up our sweet girl immediately. Hershey is resting in her favorite spot and we are extactic to have her home. Our son comes home with his grandparents from a weekend trip and losing one dog is going to be hard enough for this family but two was impossible.

Last Sunday morning a dog appeared at the property next door to where I work. The next day the resident of the house brought him over to me to see if we could find his owner. I went on the website for Nashville Humane Society, where I saw the link to Nashville Pet Finders. I found his picture on the Nashville Pet Finders website and tried to contact the owners, but there was one too many numbers in her phone number. I called Nashville Humane Society again and they gave me the owner’s correct number. In about 20 minutes Mclaren’s owner was there to pick him up. Mclaren’s owner asked the owner of A&F Electric what the A stood for in A&F. He told her Atwood. Turns out that is the name of Mclaren’s owner. After looking through some family records I found out they are related. Happy story all the way around!

Thanks to Nashville Petfinders we were able to get our three beautiful German Shepards back. They had gotten out of the fence (chasing another animal; cat, squirrel, rat ???) but couldnt get back in the way they came out. We could tell they tried by the way the fence was. We checked everywhere. We thought for sure that animal control had them. They didn’t have their collars on so our hopes of ever finding them were very grim.

After a couple of days I was on the Internet looking at found dogs and I decided to post them on the Nashville Petfinders website, as well as a few others. I didn’t even have pictures of them, but somehow by the grace of God they were found. They had only been listed a few days and I got the calls and the e-mails. I was so excited.

A very nice family had been keeping them after they showed up at their house (only 1 day after they got out). They had just about given up on anyone claiming them so they had called animal control. The man from animal control came out saw the dogs and before he took them he checked with the Nashville Petfinders database and then we got the call. I know without Nashville Petfinders we wouldn’t have found them, and without their collars, no one would have known how to find us.

So, my family and I are very grateful and I will make sure I tell everyone I know about you and the great service you are to Nashville. God Bless Nashville Petfinders.org!

I was reunited with Cricket today, after he'd been gone for over a week. He's a little scruffy and disheveled, but otherwise none the worse for wear. And although I didn't actually find Cricket through Nashville Pet Finders, I'm still sending you the reunion story since your website played an essential role in my eventually finding him--the knowledge that a site like yours exists helped keep me from giving up, and the important tips on your website helped me do the right things to get him back.

Although this was a terribly upsetting experience, it's also given me a new perspective on how kind and compassionate others can be. I was able to get my cat back because of some good Samaritans who feed and take care of stray cats; they saw one of my fliers and called me. But it was also because of the advice, support, and encouragement of people like those who created and those who post on this site. I was prepared to give up a few days ago, but neighbors and even perfect strangers who saw my fliers and lost pet postings wrote to me and told me not to give up and gave me advice. I am going to try my best to pay all this kindness forward, be it by helping other stray animals or by checking Nashville Pet Finders often and encouraging others who have also lost their pets.
