I found him today and the second my friend saw that he was a Shar-pei, and that something was wrong with him, I checked your site. Sure enough, I saw the description of Nacho, and saw that he was blind. I called the owner immediately and she came to pick him up.
Thank you!

Posted June 13 - 2007
I checked the lost dog listings after I posted the dog we found on the Nashville Pet Finders website, and amazingly I found the owner’s posting. We found the dog at 7:00 pm and by 11:00 pm his owner was picking him up. All thanks are due to the existence of Nashville Pet Finders. His owner made the posting as soon as his dog was missing and I kept hunting on the Internet for a site about Nashville lost dogs. A story with a happy ending!

Portia
Posted June 13 - 2007
Portia had been missing since March 24, 2007. She was found by Robin and her husband in Old Hickory, escaped from their home, and then was found by Toni, who listed her on the Nashville Pet Finders website. Toni then checked the lost dog listings and she saw a listing that fit Portia’s description. She contacted the person on the listing and it turned out to be Portia’s owner. Thank you to Robin and her husband, and to Toni K. for caring for Portia and keeping her safe.
- Sonya Velez, Nashville Pet Finders
If it weren’t for Nashville Pet Finders I probably would have never seen Portia again. She was brought all the way to another county--I never thought to try and look all the way out there! I'm so glad she's home--I missed her sooooooo much!

Little Girl
Posted May 14 - 2007
Little Girl had been missing for 7 agonizing days, but with the help of your website and a kind, considerate woman, she is now safely home only 13 hours after I posted her lost on your site! Thanks to your website I can go to sleep tonight knowing that "all" of my loved ones are safe and that my children will not ask me in the morning if I am ever going to find "Little Girl!" "Rocket Man" has came back to life reclaiming his "namesake" and darting like a "rocket" fast as he can from one room to the other with his "Little Girl" at his heels.

Dusty
Posted April 7 - 2007
I saw my dog pictured in the found dog section of Nashville Pet Finders this afternoon (thanks to the Weil’s of Brentwood, TN) and picked him up. Thanks for a great service!
- Carlton Adams
We were so pleased to be linked to your site via the Nashville Humane Society, when we came upon a sweet and very lost Sheltie this past Thursday. We could tell immediately that he was a loved and well cared for pet, so we posted his picture and characteristics, whilst our three children helped care for the dog they dubbed "Fox the Dog". Within a day, we received a call from the very worried owners, who came and claimed their sweet dog, lost during the recent storm, who we learned goes by the name of Dusty. We're so glad we could bring Dusty and his owners back together, just in time for Easter! Thanks for making it happen.

Emma
Posted March 29 - 2007
Emma was found wandering around traffic in Sylvan Park when someone picked her up and brought her to their home in Inglewood. They figured she would be safer there while they searched for her owner. Somehow Emma managed to escape out of their yard and went wandering around the neighborhood. That’s when Jolene saw Emma, from her window, and thought she looked lost. Jolene then checked the listings on Nashville Pet Finders. She saw a dog that fit Emma’s description so she went outside and called Emma’s name and Emma came right to her. Jolene called the number from the listing on Nashville Pet Finders and Emma was happily reunited with her family! |

Giddy
Posted January 12 - 2007
I did what your website suggested. I made flyers and posted them everywhere. I put one on my garbage cans (on garbage day) and my mailbox with notes to these neighborhood-wise-people to keep an eye out for my dog. The postman called me and led me several miles down a very busy road where he had seen my dog. She hopped in my car and we both cried all the way home.
Thank you for your help!!! Giddy is home!

Koda
Posted December 26 - 2006
We are thrilled to say that Koda has been found! She has a broken leg, but was taken to a local clinic and is going to be just fine.
The person who rescued Koda didn't know about Nashville Pet Finders and had been trying to reach the owners who were out-of-town.
This morning the owners' neighbor checked messages on their machine, AND the vet recognized Koda from the picture I'd included with the posting, so the clinic knew to call me as well.

Nicki
Posted June 9 - 2006
I just want to thank you for creating this web site. Nicki had been missing since November and I did everything possible to find her…EVERYTHING!
After a few months my family wanted to get another pet but I couldn’t. I had a sense she was out there and I wasn’t going to give up (not to mention my heart was broken). Finally after 5 months & 2 weeks I saw on NPF where a woman found a Husky mix. I called the woman and she had already given Nicki back to the owners, who just happened to have found Nicki in November. The woman helped me contact those people and we got our Nicki back. Thank you for helping owners find their pets. Without your site we wouldn’t have Nicki now!

Homer
Posted May 8 - 2006
I submitted a found dog on your site and within 24 hours "Homer" was reunited with his family! In five days he had journeyed from the Lion's Head area to Granny White/Woodmont area. A very nice couple rescued him from the middle of the street after/during a storm. They could not keep him so we offered to help them find his owners. His owners could not believe that he had traveled that far. Thank You!!!!!

Zach
Posted Apr 11 - 2006
We weren’t home when our gate blew open during a recent storm. Zach, being afraid of storms, freaked and ran out. Animal Control picked him up - not far from home. I think he had been hit by a car. He had a proptosed eye that might have been saved if I could have gotten to him sooner, but the shelter was closed on Sunday and Monday. Sadly, he wasn't wearing his collar, which was my fault - can't blame anybody for that. The important thing is that he's home and safe -- primarily thanks to your website.

French Bulldog Mix
Posted Sept 12 - 2005
I posted a week ago about a French bulldog mix that I found. A woman emailed me that this was her dog stolen three years earlier. One thing we noticed when we were taking care of the dog is how much she loved to ride in the car. Well, when I met the woman I knew it was her dog because she said, "You want to go through the drive thru baby girl?" Thanks for your service. A mom and her fast-food loving bulldog are reunited.

Buster
Posted August 20 - 2005
Recently, while driving down Nolensville Rd, I saw a beagle/basset mix crossing and dodging cars, and limping in the brutal heat. The dog made it out of traffic and to a shopping plaza. When I approached he didn’t seem threatening so I used my belt as a leash and got him in my car. After a few days, I suddenly thought to look on the Nashville Pet Finders website and there I saw a couple of male beagle mixes. One area mentioned Tusculum but I had no idea where that is. I emailed the possible owner and we got together. The dog (Buster) was theirs. I may have ignored the ad if it wasn’t for my coworker, who told me the dog could have come from that area. When placing a listing please leave more specific information as to major and smaller areas. When losing a family member there’s no such thing as too much info. That info is the one thing that may make the reuniting possible.

Dusty
Posted August 20 - 2005
Thanks to your service, I was able to reunite "Dusty" an 8-month-old Dachshund with his owners. I didn't know about your site when I found him on Saturday. Monday morning I took the puppy to my vet and she suggested looking at nashvillepetfinders.com to see if he'd been reported missing. Bingo! The description and picture was unmistakably the puppy I had found. Now, Dusty is back with his family and a very happy little fellow! I'm going to miss him but I'm glad he's been reunited with his family.

Buddy (now Napoleon)
Posted April 18 - 2005
Buddy had broken out of his collar and gotten away from his owner late one night on 2/23, and the very next day ended up on our front porch. We didn't know what his name was so we named him Napoleon. It didn't take long for our whole family to fall in love with him. We really didn't think after all this time that anyone would claim him; at least that's what we were secretly hoping. When we got the email from Buddy's owner, who saw our posting on nashvillepetfinders.org, you could just about hear our hearts hit the floor. But, as we read further, Buddy's owner went on to say that if we liked Buddy and could give him a good home than he would be willing to give him up, since he was a single guy and not home very often to spend time with Buddy. Needless to say, we were overjoyed to find out that we could keep Buddy…Napoleon! Another happy ending!

Thank you for helping us find Missy! Missy was found by Kelly under a deck in his backyard, about 2 blocks from our house. She had been hit by a car. Heidi
Posted Jan. 15 - 2005
I was babysitting my neighbor/friend's beloved cockapoo, Heidi, while she was out of town. I love Heidi almost as much as she does - Heidi stays with me and my cat, Precious, a lot while Heidi's mother goes to school and works. This past weekend, Heidi wandered away and some angels found her and took her in. On Monday morning I was directed to this web site and followed all the suggestions for a lost pet. The people who found Heidi did too. We never got as far as seeing each other's posting but because we both followed all the suggestions, such as calling the vets in the area, I got Heidi back before my friend returned from her trip! I call it "Mine and Heidi's Excellent Adventure!"
Thanks for a great web site and great advise. It really works. If everyone who loses a dog and everyone who finds a dog follows the suggestions, I believe most lost and found people and pets will be reunited.
